I have thin medium brown hair.  This is no secret!  A couple of years ago I wanted to lighten my dark locks and thought adding highlights through the top section was a good way to ease into it.  This was fine and very manageable.

Then last year I moved to Singapore, the land of tropical and humid weather.  I thought because I was living on an island with an endless summer why not embrace this sunny weather and “get more highlights.” So I went blonde…

My normally thin and silky, weightless hair turned, dry, unmanageable and frizzy!  The intense sun, chlorine from the pool, being in constant air con and then constant humidity sent my hair haywire and the fact that it was full of peroxide meant that it started to break! Disastrous hair 101!

So to try and get my hair back to its normal, healthy, silky state, I have had to go back to my medium brown colour.  I ALWAYS use a heat protectant spray when straightening with an iron or curling with a wand and I actually SWEAR by using two pumps of L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil through my damp hair before blow drying.

L’Oreal’s Extraordinary Oil (pictured below) is made up of a potent blend of 6 precious flower extracts; Flax, Tiare, Rose, Lotus, Chamomile and Matricaria and has been infused with additional UV Filter Protection.  Words cannot explain how this special formula has helped my hair regain moisture and shine.

My hair feels instantly smoother and silkier. I no longer get the horrible knots and tangles and I can honestly say that my hair breakage is now under control. It’s starting to look less damaged, in fact it is starting to look like my normal healthy hair again. Hallelujah!

I also like to use a mask once a fortnight as well.  And even leave it in overnight, especially if I have been swimming in my pool.  Gradually my hair is finding it true form again… Now on to my next hair concern… Keeping the grey at bay – Arghh!
