Recently I attended the launch of the new and improved Prisme Libre by Givenchy.  This already iconic loose powder has been modernised to further enhance the skins complexion and tones.  It combines four neutral tones in the one case, along with a micro fibre powder puff for application.

I have to admit, I normally wear a CC cream during the day and have never been too fussed about wearing a loose powder.  I have always found that powder can make my skin appear cakey and overly matte.  I like my skin to glow and pick up the light and personally feel that powders leave my skin looking dull and too mature for my age.

After trying Givenchy’s Prisme Libre in Voile Rose, I must say I was pleasantly surprised.  The four shades of pinks and mother-of-pearl highlighted my skin, giving it a fresh “pick me up”.  While it is matte, more in a velvety soft way, I would say that it is certainly not dull.  Givenchy have used special pigments of equal size that have been treated with atomisation technology. This allows the powder to glide evenly over my skin, creating a luminous effect on my cheek and brow bones.

For me it is the perfect compromise. I can wear this over my bare skin creating a radiant glow or I can wear it over my CC Cream or foundation.  It is perfect for dulling shine, leaving an even peachy soft skin effect.

This product will now be a part of my morning makeup regime and will regularly be found in my handbag for daily touch ups. Thank you Givenchy for re-building my confidence in loose powders.

Givenchy Prisme Libre is priced at $86 and will be available at all Givenchy counters at Robinsons Orchard, Isetan Scotts, Metro Paragon, Metro Woodlands and Sephora ION from May 2014 onwards.
